Tango Dance historically suffers from the lack of state and private support for scenic creation, which causes our artistic production to stagnate, always reproducing the same stories, and taking away the resources to express current content. The economic crisis we are experiencing and the pandemic only accentuated this situation. It is for this reason that in July 2023 we held the “Tangos on Stage” call in order to provide resources to artists and new directors to create and develop short works of Tango Dance.

“Tangos en Escena” received more than 20 work projects. The selected proposals were: La Otra Orilla, Mu.Danza and Lavandina.

It should be noted that this and all the projects promoted by the TTD are possible thanks to the solidarity economic contribution of the global tango community and the collective pro bono work of the members of our Association. Which allows us to continue generating bonds of collaboration and trust that are essential to continue building collectively.

The works are going through their final stage of production, that is why we want to tell you that we are going to carry out different performances of “Tangos en Escena” so that you can enjoy these new creations.
